They said it, not us

The law protects the rich and punishes the poor.

Capital Development Authority (CDA), is a public corporation responsible for providing municipal services in the Islamabad city. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry of the Supreme Court has remarked that the CDA has allotted precious plots worth millions of rupees to the rich for the construction of homes in the name of agriculture farms while the poor do not have even a cottage to seek shelter. “Palatial bungalows have been constructed on these farms instead of growing vegetables.” He said.

Leases of 500 out of 502 farms had been revoked. Only two farms were left now.

Attorney General (AG) Munir A Malik said that the Prime Minister had requested legal protection be extended to illegal constructions. JThe AG said, “It has become a culture that abiding by law is considered as madness or foolishness.” Justice Azmat Saeed remarked, “This way those abiding by law will suffer losses.”
